Compass Community Convention

The managing directors of the Compass-Group invited customers, business partners and stakeholders to Palais Niederösterreich to discuss mathematics, statistics and their impact on business decisions. The highlight of the evening was the exciting and lively keynote by Prof. Dr. Rudolf Taschner on "The mathematics of being". Afterwards, Prof. Taschner signed his latest book with a personal note for the guests.

At the same time, the Compass-Benchmark – the new information service – was presented. For the Compass-Benchmark, a probability of failure was calculated by means of statistical methods from the analysis of more than one million balance sheets of Austrian companies. In a direct comparison with other companies of the same industry and size, the probability of default is presented in the form of a school mark. Users get a deep insight into the respective business development and are able to hedge their decisions in everyday business life and minimise risks. (18 November 2015)
