What is the Business Register?
The Business Register is the official database of the Federal Ministry of Justice pursuant to Federal Law BGBL No. 10/1991. It is used for recording and disclosing facts which are to be entered in accordance with the provisions of commercial law. A business register extract contains, amongst other things, current information on the registered office, legal form, capital of a company, power of representation, managing directors, commercial power of attorney, partners as well as legal facts such as conversion, merger, splitting or articles of association.
What is the Land Register?
The Land Register is a public directory in which plots of land and the material rights that exist to them (e. g.: encumbrances, right of abode, usufruct) are entered. It is managed by the district courts. The Land Register is divided into Sheet A (property sheet), Sheet B (ownership sheet) and Sheet C (encumbrances sheet), which contains, amongst other things, liens, bans on disposal/charges or easements. In addition, reference can be made to certain legally significant facts by means of comments (e.g. comment on the order of precedence).
What is GISA?
GISA [Trade Information System Austria] contains the most important
business-related data of all commercial businesses established in Austria.
Excerpts contain information about the name, the location and the
wording of the trade licence of a commercial business. For data relating to sole traders, which are not registered in the Business Register, GISA currently is the only authentic source of information.
